Department History
As been related to Gandhi family FGC has very prestigious history.
Established in 1960 with Sri Bishan Bihari Tandon as the only teacher to teach the under-graduate classes. Department upgraded to Post-undergraduate level in 1966. Various learned teachers were appointmented from time to time in the Department.

The Head of the department is Dr. Udai Bhan Singh. Many students have been award Ph.D. from this department and a few students are enrolled for research leading to Ph.D. degree in Sociology.

Feroz Gandhi College is the main center for higher education in the Raebareli district. The college was established on 8th August, 1960 by the then Member of Parliament Sri Feroz Gandhi. At present the college is providing education in four faculties namely "Science, Arts, Commerce & Education". There is also a proposal to declare it A Deemed University.
